Shana Bet News
After an amazing Shabbat with the entire Midrasha, Shana Bet students headed out on Sunday morning with Michal Porath Zibman to the Har Herzl military cemetery right across the street. They had a shiur in the entrance to the cemetery and then went to say Tehillim at the gravesites of the young heroes of the Yom Kippur war. Although they spent a lot of time before Yom Kippur preparing for our own Teshuva, they never want to forget that 39 years ago Yom Kippur in Israel was interrupted by the outbreak of a war which resulted in 2,589 deaths of Israeli Soldiers. As their Yahrzreit approaches, they wanted to remember their courage and mesirut nefesh and learn the morning’s Torah shiur in their memory. Yehi Zichram Baruch.
On Monday, Shana Bet had the opportunity of distributing special color coded Yom Kippur machzorim to the patients in the hospital so they know what tefilot are essential to say if they can't say everything or make it to shul. The machzorim were generously donated by Efrat Schorr who came up with the idea to make this special machzor.
